RECIPE OF THE WEEK - 2/13/18 Sweet and Spicy Roasted Edamame

SNACKING IS THE NUMBER ONE ISSUE MOST MY CLIENTS TELL ME IS THE CULPRIT OF THEIR WEIGHT GAIN WHETHER IT'S SWEET, SALTY OR SPICY. THIS QUICK AND EASY EDAMAME SNACK RECIPE IS PACKED WITH PROTEIN AND FLAVOR SO YOU CAN INDULGE YOUR CRAVING AND EAT IT TOO! 😀

Sweet and Spicy Roasted Edamame

Ingredients:

1 Bag Frozen Edamame, thawed

1 Tablespoon, Canola Oil (any can be used)

1 Tablespoon, Soy Sauce

½ Tablespoon, Sriracha (if only using sriracha, increase to 1 Tablespoon)

½ Tablespoon, Garlic Chili Sauce

1 Tablespoon, Kosher Salt

1 Tablespoon, Brown Sugar

1 Tablespoon, Wasabi Powder


Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. In a bowl, combine the edamame, oil, soy sauce, sriracha and garlic chili sauce.

  3. Spread out on parchment-lined baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, tossing occasionally.

  5. As beans are roasting, combine salt, brown sugar and wasabi powder. If a finer powder is desired, put ingredients in a spice grinder and pulse for a few seconds.

  6. Remove roasted beans from the oven and immediately sprinkle with seasoning powder. Eat immediately!
